BA-Hons Business - Top-up
Hello, I am Dragos Stanescu and thrilled to share my experience that I am extremely happy with my experience at Nelson College London. Making the best decision on our education is important, and choosing Nelson College London has been a positive and fulfilling choice for me. This programme allowed me to immerse myself in a new culture and gain a global perspective.
On Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th March a team of experts from London Metropolitan University visited Nelson College in order to carry out two important tasks.
The first was to review how the College had been delivering programmes of study validated by the University for delivery by the College – namely two Foundation Degrees (in Business & Hospitality Management) and two ‘top-up’ programmes to convert Pearsonvalidated HNDs into London Met-validated Bachelor’s degrees.
The second was to validate two taught Master’s degrees: one in International Business (Management) and one in International Business (Hospitality Management).
I am pleased to report that London Met’s team has recommended – subject to conditions being fulfilled – both the revalidation of existing London Met-accredited programmes and the validation of the proposed Master’s degrees.
This year’s Graduation Ceremony took place at City Gates Conference Centre on 22nd November 2018. Those in attendance included Prof. Geoffrey Alderman (Principal), Nazim Uddin (Director/Head Of Quality Assurance), Athiqul Islam (Director) and Shiraj Islam (Director).
Speeches were given by: Aaron Porter (The Chair), Geoffrey Alderman (Principal), David Douglas (Head of Programme Delivery), Margaret Amakawah (Programme Leader & Chief IV), Mudassar Mehmood (Academic Manager/Programme Leader & Chief IV). Also, two student representatives Happy Begum Khan and Anna Cichocka delivered speeches as well.
In total, 143 Business students and 150 Hospitality Management students graduated from Spetember 2016 intake. They were presented with their Awards by principal Geoffrey Alderman.
Whether you are a returning student on one of our Top-up or HND Programmes, or you have just joined us on a HND Programme, Nelson College London would like to convey the warmest welcome back from the summer break, to all of our students.
Since you’ve been away, the college has undergone a QAA review, and received its Office for Students (OfS) registration. A message from the Nelson College London:
The College is delighted to announce that Nelson College London is one of the first for-profit private colleges and one of the leading providers of career-focused higher education in East London that has achieved registration status from the Office for Students.
Announcing this news, Nelson College Principal Professor Geoffrey Alderman explained that this registration “means that the College meets Office for Students requirements for course quality, academic standards, student support, student protection and more.”
As an OfS-registered higher-education provider, Nelson College will be able to charge fees up to the highest level approved by the Department for Education – just over £9,000 per annum. British and EU students will be entitled to borrow these fees from the Student Loans Company. Much of this money will be used to support the College’s Access & Participation Plan, which the OfS has also approved and which is now publicly available on the College website.
On 19 September it was my unique privilege and honour to formally open the Broadstairs campus of Nelson College. The ceremony was attended by a host of local dignitaries, including Deputy Mayor Councillor Mike Garner.
