Access and Participation Plans

The College is committed to widening participation and has embedded this throughout the College committee structure. The College supports the Office for Students’ (OfS) aim to ensure that ‘every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers.

The College has in place Access and Participation Plans for the period from 2019-20 academic year as well as for the period from 2020-21 to 2024-25, both approved by the Office for Students.

The approved OfS Access and Participation Plans set out the College's agenda to widen participation. From this analysis the College aims to target prospective students from underrepresented groups which fall under the following student groups:

- Underrepresented ethnic groups (e.g. Black, Minority and Ethnic Students)

- Mature Students

- Students from low participation neighbourhoods,

- Students from low-income backgrounds

- Care Leavers students

- Students living with a disability

GTRSB Pledge 

The College is always exploring how to better support underrepresented groups therefore the College has committed to the Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showmen and Boaters (GTRSB) into Higher Education Pledge. The College has an open statement supporting the GTRSB Pledge which highlights the mechanisms in place to support the GTRSB Community.
